He would then transfer to Morehead State and go on to earn All-Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) honors, finishing with 1,083 points, and 378 rebounds and 222 assists. During his time there the Blue Jays won the 1991 Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) Tournament and went on to advance to the NCAA Tournament Second Round. Additionally he produced two athletic Gateway All-American performers during the 2011-12 season.Ĭollegiate Playing Career: Creighton University (1990-91), Morehead State (1991-94)Īs a student-athlete Williams signed with Creighton University after graduating from Marion High School in 1990. William’s first head coaching job came at Wentzville Holt High School in Wentzville, Missouri where he led his team to runner-up finishes in the Gateway South Conference and District 6 Tournament. Tennessee State University (2014-15, Men’s Basketball Video Coordinator) During that time the Cougars had two members earn First Team All-Mid-West Athletic Conference (MAC) honors and three players named to the All-Region XXIV Team. Prior to his success at TSU he served as assistant coach and spent a pair of seasons with Illinois Central Community College from 2015-17. Illinois Central Community College (2015-17, Men’s Basketball Assistant Coach) Williams was also instrumental in producing two All-Tournament athletes, three Athlete of the Week honorees and Jeremy Combs being named SWAC Player of the Year.
